Aegis’ TestXcell is designed for electrical test-program generation, providing automated programming, design-for test (DFT) analysis, fixture design and schematic viewing. TestXcell, derived from Digitaltest’s C-Link, has a proven history and market acceptance with over 900 users worldwide. An OEM agreement between Digitaltest, Herbert Schmidt GmbH and Aegis Inc. allows the company to deliver an unrivalled best-in-class new product introduction (NPI) suite, handling bill of material (BOM) and CAD import and compare, SMT-line programming, documentation and now electrical test-program generation. With the addition of TestXcell to the NPI software suite, the circle of manufacturing information control is complete. Users can monitor the entire test process from graphical design data input through to net adaptability checking, component testability checking and full mechanical fixture design to the generation of tester input lists and circuit-description files. In regard to electrical test, the engineering strategies between the companies involved were synergistic from the beginning. With a strong R&D team in the US and Europe, rapid support and development of more functionality can be expected.
