Participants attended the Viscom Technology Forum on June 21st and 22nd, which focused on inspection solutions for electronics production. MichaelMügge, the company’s sales engineer, led them through the event, as the president of the company, Volder Paper, delivered the welcome speech.
Technical presentations, workshops, tutorials, and live demonstrations covered different perspectives, including the Hermes Standard. Which is an accessible protocol that could manage manufacturer-independent communication between machines in the SMT and THT lines.
Thomas Mückl, Zollner Elektronik AG, furthered discussed RFID chips with a rewritable memory that handle intelligent identification without contact. The data on it is adapted to each process step; data over the life cycle and after production can be saved and recalled.
During this event, the company also presented their own innovations. Through the workshops and talks, details on different topics were discussed, such as, AOI color gradient inspections and classification based on realistic 3D images (360View). The company’s Pilot and the optimal combination of orthogonal, angled, and 3D inspection based on a best-mix library were also discussed.
Dirk Nülle, the company’s Head of SP product development, presented the X7056-II system, which has a handling speed of under four seconds during an automatic x-ray inspection.
Rolf Demitz, Vice President of NP, used the X8068 to demonstrate the advantages of manual X-ray (MXI). This system includes operable analysis tools, a robust manipulator, and automatic opening and closing of the window. A flat panel detector delivers magnifications up to 2500x, with multifaceted image filters. Rainer Duhm (Applications) then used this system and a connector with THT connections to show the 3D reconstruction of an inspection object with planar computed tomography. The company’s Product Developer, Detlef Beer, also discussed current and future projects.
