APEX 2020

This year marked the 20^th anniversary for the North American tradeshow, IPC Apex Expo. The show took place at the San Diego Convention Center, with the theme “Elevate the excellence of electronics”. Getting a first glance of what the year will bring, exhibitors and visitors gathered in one place to see innovative solutions, while taking part of constructive networking opportunities.

Best practice trainings, live demonstrations, and other educational classes also took place in order to get insight on current trends and the future of the market. A variety of topics were further discussed, including quality, reliability, assembly, design, and PCB fabrication. These informative sessions covered all career levels and educational backgrounds.

Below is a quick overview of what occurred:

• This year’s keynote speaker was the aerospace entrepreneur, Burt Rutan. On opening day, he discussed the commercial space travel and the race for space.
• Sessions @ the Intersection addressed topics such as e-textiles, PCB challenges, strategic board procurement, and more.
• Located in the Sails pavilion, the New Products Corridor showed products and services that are fresh in the market.
• CFX Digital Factory had daily live demonstrations, featuring the Hermes, CFX, and IoT messaging standards. Participants include Aegis, ASM, Flexlink, Heller Industries, Keysight Technologies, KIC, Koh Young America, and Purex.
