Panasonic Factory Solutions Europe, a division of Panasonic Industry Europe GmbH, is a company in the field of Smart Factory. Celebrating its 100 year anniversary and based on a century of combined expertise as a manufacturer and equipment provider, the company will be presenting full process optimization solutions in the Cyber-Physical-System field at the SMT show.
The integrated line management system is the base for controlling the entire production line. It is not limited to the company’s machines but also integrates third party equipment, such as PCB transfer systems, laser markers, AOI, SPI and ovens. The iLNB controls the entire line with only one PC, significantly improving overall productivity. All collected production data and changeover of all equipment can be controlled and transferred to a remote central computer. Small errors, such as pick up errors, can be recovered from that central point. Automatic production changeover is also possible.
The Manufacturing Operations Optimizer creates production plans required for on-site operations. This reduces the man-hours needed for the production plan and enhances efficiency. MFO creates detailed schedules for productions and pre-set up operations, and calculates the required resources by simulating the manufacturing process of the production floor. It can estimate production completion, indicate which production sequence is to be used, propose optimal machine set up, and indicate the number of staff needed to achieve the plan. This is not limited to the company’s machines, but also supports third party equipment such as SPI, AOI, reflow oven, screen printer and more.
More than an executer
PanaCIM Enterprise Edition is for integrated management that enhances quality, reduces costs, and increases floor productivity. It is comprised of 8 modules that can be installed individually, according to specific needs and requirements. Modules are available for material control and verification, production control for changeover, traceability, analysis, monitoring, and maintenance module. It is a multi-level manufacturing execution system for any customer size, supporting levels from machine to the cloud. Due to its modularity, the system can support 1 machine or more than 1000 machines and integrates to any platform.
While reducing the number of operators on the shop-floor is important, the time and effort of creating and updating programs under HMLV is also a key issue. With one simple command, either through command line, CUI, or even your existing GUI system, importing CAD/BOM, creating PCB data, choosing a line and setup, optimizing, creating a program, and downloading can be done automatically and seamlessly.
The NPM-WX is the mounting production hardware for “Smart manufacturing”, with higher line throughput and improved quality at a lower cost. APC system and automatic recovery are integrated to realize an autonomous line control. The incorporated floor management system and remote operation option improves utilization. It can handle a variety of components, from 0402 chip components up to large a maximum component size of 150 x 25 x 40 mm. Supplied parts is possible with tape, stick, and tray feeders by using 30 input feeder cart or inserting a 17 input feeder cart twice. 4 different types of placement heads are available, with a maximum speed of 86.000 cph at an accuracy of ±25 µm. Connection and control via iLNB ensures full control of production.
The laser marking machine LPS-C can be integrated into production lines to produce high precision marks on PCBs. It has a marking size of a minimum of 0.1 x 0.1 mm, an integrated recognition mark function for position correction, and a marking speed of 0.3 sec/mark. Using this machine improves the quality of marks because they wear off like paper marks do. It has the function of automatic serialization which avoids wrong or duplicate serial numbers.
The SPV-DC Dual Screen Printer now features the patent-pending paperless cleaning solution. The eco-friendly operation reduces waste while increases user cost-savings. This option eliminates paper from the screen printing process, due to the squeegee system that cleans the bottom surface of stencils. The cleaning technology combines 6 squeegee blades and a vacuum system, creating a sweeping motion across the bottom of the stencil surface and removing any solder and chemical debris. The blades are not only easy to clean and exchangeable in seconds, but they are also designed to last up to 400,000 cycles.
The odd-shaped component tamer
Under the slogan “Beyond SMT”, that company offers special equipment to place odd-form SMT components or to process PTH components. The NPM-VF is a versatile and flexible machine that allows various configurations of head tools and machine feeder to adapt to different types of components. It can handle components up to a maximum of 130 x 35 x 60 mm or 150 x 38 x 29 mm. Components can be supplied from stick, radial tape, or tray and bulk feeder. It is possible to mount SMT components with a minimum size of 5 x 5 mm andtape feeders from 12 to 56 mm width.
The A.I. hand
The Parallel Link Robot (PLR) is available manual work, such as PTH component insertion, assembling, adhesive application, soldering and wiring, and more. It is a device that can be programmed easily for production applications that are to be automated. These include the insertion of electronic components of different types and sizes, wiring, assembly, applying adhesives, soldering and labelling. The simple “direct teaching” method is done by a hand-guided “learning”, in which the movement of a human hand is recorded and stored. The 6-axis robot can work for 24 hours a day and programming knowledge is not required to program it.
