Virtual Industries Inc., a supplier of manual vacuum handling solutions, offers a Pen-Vac kit, including 8 probes, cups, and vacuum pen holder, which is the perfect solution for the pick and place of small parts.

The V8901-KIT-B Pen-Vac Kit is totally self-contained. There are no batteries or hoses to get in the operator’s way. It’s affordable and easy to use; simply select a tip with a rubber vacuum cup on probe that is slightly smaller than the part you want to pick and place. Put the probe on the tip of the vacuum pen, depress and hold the button on the side of the tool then release to pick up the part. Move the part to where you want it and press the button again, the part is now released.

The company’s product line features hand tools that replace tweezers or other gripping means for many applications. These tools are portable and eliminate the need for vacuum hoses or power cords. This makes these tools ideally suited for ergonomic manipulation of parts during assembly, inspection, rework and service operations. In addition to the hand tools, the company offers a broad line of accessories including miniature rubber vacuum cups, Peek wafer handling tips, and precision machined handling tips for critical handling operations.

For customers who do not require portability, there is a selection of bench top systems that are powered by line voltage, compressed air, battery, or in-house vacuum sources. These tools use a vacuum pen that is tethered with a small diameter vacuum line. Parts ranging in size from 0.13 mm (0.005 “) up to 300 mm can easily be handled.
