The Europlacer international sales team, in conjunction with India distributor Bergen Associates, succeeded in displaying a screen printer at productronica India for the first time. The SP710avi printer from, sister company Speedprint Technologies, is equipped with an S-Track traceability package, was well received by exhibition visitors – but nearly didn’t make it to the show.
“This was the first time we had chosen to exhibit a printer at a trade event in India,” says Steve Farragher, International Sales Manager. “Our pre-show publicity, shipping logistics and documentation was meticulously planned. Everything was in place to reveal the top-end SP710 model at the event. But the Indian Customs Department had other ideas.”
At the eleventh hour, the printer was permitted to clear customs and arrived at the exhibition venue in the nick of time. “We were delighted to be able to display the Speedprint printer alongside our Europlacer iineo placement machine,” says Farragher. “Both platforms generated a great deal of interest at a show that was very busy. Potential customers were recognising that our technology differentiates us, so I’m very pleased with that outcome, and expect to be making a large number of follow-up visits nationwide in the near future.”
Through Bergen Associates, Farragher reports that both companies are experiencing strong business growth across the territory, particularly in the public sector and specifically the target markets in aerospace, military and medical. “These quality-conscious manufacturing sectors benefit from the accuracy, capacity, traceability and flexibility characteristics that are at the core of our product technologies,” Farragher explains, adding: „It allows users to remain competitive in a strong economy – a situation improved further by government financial incentives put in place for SMEs in our market sector.”
